Job Task Analysis
& Job Dictionaries
A Job task analysis (JTA) is a descriptive analysis of a given task at the workplace. It identifies the environment and the physical demands placed on the worker in order to complete the task. The aim of the JTA is to highlight the physical capacity required for a worker to safely complete the task. This becomes useful when deciding whether a worker is fit for full duties or whether they need to be placed on modified or light duties. It is extremely useful in aiding a medical practitioner such as a GP in deciding the work capacity of the injured worker.
The ultimate aim for a company would be to complete JTA’s for all physical tasks and therefore formulate a Job Dictionary; a collection of all JTA’s in one, easy to access location.
